Eye on Video
Eye on Video is a summer paid apprenticeship program that offers teens the opportunity to learn the art of filmmaking from local Teaching Artists, as well as career-skills training to prepare them for today’s creative workplace. During the program. apprentices learn the basics of screenwriting, film production, and editing in a collaborative classroom setting. Each apprentice will create their own short film which will be showcased at the program’s concluding premiere. The class runs 5 days a week for 7 weeks.
Comment from a former student:
“I would definitely recommend this program to a friend. It’s not only about filmmaking, it’s also about the individuals. Yes, it’s important to know how to write a script or how to storyboard, but it’s also important to know how to develop your ideas or have confidence in them. I’m more professional now, I’m smarter in filmmaking, and I’m more aware of who I am as a person. These were the program’s goals, and they succeeded in all of them.” – Eye on Video student, Erin Robles 2019.
