Tales of an Immoral Couple (La Vida Inmoral De La Pareja Ideal)
Lucio and Martina had a passionate romance during their youth at a strict Catholic high school. 25 years later, they unexpectedly run into each other in the city of San Miguel de Allende.
Their immediate reaction is to each pretend to be married happily––even if it’s all lies.
As they try to maintain their false images in a comedy of errors, we find out just what happened between the young couple so long ago.
Cecilia Suárez plays the role of Martina, while Manuel García Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven and the upcoming Soldado) plays the role of Lucio. They are joined by Sebastián Aguirre (Güeros and A Monster with a Thousand Heads), Andrés Almeida (You’re Killing Me Susana and Y Tu Mamá También), and Spain’s Paz Vega (Lucía and Sex, and Almodóvar’s Talk to Her and I’m So Excited).
"Fated-to-be-mated Mexican couple eventually win each other, as well as audience hearts, in this breezy summer idyll."
"It won't replace your favorite girl-meets-boy classics, but it yo-yos between the heart and the loins with admirable verve, and it boasts a few richly comic turns."
"A sweet and affecting story, one that forgoes the awkward moments of teenage romance and offers the possibility of reliving a bit of our youthful amor - if just for the film's 90-minute running time."
