Isle of Dogs (Afternoon Movie)

Directed by Wes Anderson

This new stop-motion animation film tells the story of Atari Kobayashi, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi.

When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots.

There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, Atari begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.

Featuring the voices of Bryan Cranston, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Greta Gerwig, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Jeff Goldblum, Frances McDormand, Ken Watanabe, Harvey Keitel, Yoko Ono, and more!

"positively littered with (Anderson's) signature banter, and it as quick and wry as ever, without a single hair out of place."

– Lindsey Bahr, Associated Press

"A splendid jewel box of a movie about rather grisly matters, the filmmaker's latest represents another example of the clash between his playfully self-aware aesthetic and his growing obsession with our inhumanity."

– Bilge Ebiri, Village Voice

"bursts with color (including extravagant swaths of crimson) and precious detail, and is shot through with the filmmaker's reliably understated humor."

– Ann Hornaday, Washington Post
