Part of Creative Cocktail Hour

track

Hartford, Connecticut – Real Art Ways presents Bohyun Yoon’s installation Structure of Shadow from May 20, 2010 through July 3, 2010. Yoon’s installations, performances, and videos explore images of the human body in terms of identity, sexuality, gender, and culture while also investigating the limits of the body and the boundaries of communication. Yoon is one of six selectees of Step Up 2009, our open call for emerging artists. There will be a reception with the artist on June 17, 2010 from 6-8 PM as part of Real Art Ways’ Creative Cocktail Hour. Admission to the reception is $10/$5 for members. Real Art Ways is located at 56 Arbor Street in Hartford's Parkville neighborhood. For more information, contact 860.232.1006 or realartways.org.

Structure of Shadow serves to deepen audiences’ understanding of the body and how that understanding in turn represents self. By reflecting light off of miniature body parts to create larger, life-like shadows, Yoon encourages the viewers’ interaction with ideas of the human body.
