Wednesday, April 18, 6pm
Hartford, CT—February 28 2007-
Real Art Ways presents graphic novelists Abby Denson and
Tim Fish on Wednesday, April 18 at 6pm. For
more information, call
860.232.1006
or visit www.realartways.org. This
is a free
event.
Author Abby Denson's manga-inspired
graphic novel, "Tough Love: High School Confidential," is
a GLBT teen's guide to coming out to parents and friends. Tim Fish's
graphic novels and comics focus on the oft-negleted experiences of
being young, gay and in love. Both authors will talk about their
work, both as graphic novelists and storytellers of the GLBT community.
Abby Denson and Tim Fish will be presented
in conjunction with True Colors & The Gay, Lesbian, and Straight
Education Network's Breaking
the Silence Rally at 5pm. True
Colors' and GLSEN's "Breaking the Silence Rally," concludes
The National Day of Silence, where youth across the country
stand
in
silent solidarity
against discrimination of GLBT students during their school day on
April 18.
This colaboration is consistent with Real Art Ways' history of being
a safe place for gay, lesbian, and transgendered individuals, and
the organization's commitment to defending the freedom of expression
of artists, authors, and performers.
