Hartford, CT: July 12, 2006—Real Art Ways is pleased to announce the 2006 OPEN selectees in our open call, OPEN exhibition series. Six emerging artists will be featured in solo exhibitions at Real Art Ways in the summer of 2006-07. The artists ­ Jillian Conrad, Nadya Volicer, Sabrina Marques, Fay Ku, Shaun Leonardo and Heather Beard ­ all hail from New York and New England.

Over 270 artists applied for the OPEN exhibitions series. Six artists were selected by jurors: CT artist, Rachel Berwick; Co-Director of iKatun, Catherine D'ignazio and Independent Curator Omar Lopez-Chahoud and 140 artists were selected by Real Art Ways staff to be featured in a SLIDE SLAM event in the spring of 2007.
