Tickets: $10-$12 "The trashy and the avant-garde meet each other
and dance in this music, which is loud, fast and hot." – The
Washington Times
BIRDSONGS OF THE MESOZOIC was formed in 1980 as a low-volume side-project
by Mission of Burma guitarist Roger Miller, with
Erik Lindgren, Rick Scott and Martin Swope. Through the years, there
have been a few
mutations, and numerous performances, releases, and events that have
been important to the group's evolution. Now on their 20th
Anniversary Tour, BIRDSONGS recently released The Iridium Controversy
on Cuneiform Records.
"Fantastically
detailed, intricate stuff that gets better with
each listen. One of the most intricate, melodic and downright
gorgeous records you're like to have heard." – BBC "Sounds like a
party in a Cubist roadhouse." – NY
Times
In 2003, the band released their 11th album, The
Iridium Controversy, on Cuneiform Records, which the Alternative
Press called "a perfect blend of ideas, ability and teamwork." .: Official Band Site
