Park Art Coordinator
Real Art Ways is looking for someone to coordinate our seven-week summer program, Park Art.
Park Art is for children ages 5 14 and meets in Day Park (across the street from Real Art Ways) Monday Thursday, 1:00pm 5:00pm from July 7, 2008 through August 14, 2008. Park Art is an informal, drop-in art program that serves the children in the Parkville neighborhood.
Candidates should be well-organized artists or musicians with experience working with children and young adults. Responsibilities include: planning activities and projects for the Park Art program, purchasing supplies and supervising other participating artists and musicians.
This temporary position pays $15/hour with an expected schedule of 25 30 hours/week, with one planning week prior to the start of the program and one week after program ends to wrap up and create program report. Café Staff
Real Art Ways is currently accepting applications for part time employment at our café. Prospective employees should possess some employment history in café or restaurant service. Responsibilities include opening and closing duties, handling cash, preparing coffee drinks, and answering questions regarding Real Art Ways and the surrounding area. Summer Internships
Real Art Ways, a 32-year-old alternative arts center, is looking for
interns. Each internship runs for approximately 10-12 weeks at a minimum of
12 hours/week and requires interns to gallery attend once a month. As all
Real Art Ways internships are unpaid, we seek interns who are eligible for
college credit.
Visual Arts Intern
Interns must be reliable, detail-oriented individuals who will help with the
organization of gallery exhibitions and day-to-day tasks of the Visual Arts
Department. This position will include computer-related work, filing, and
organizing artist folders for exhibitions. Applicants should have basic
knowledge of Macintosh programs, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. Interns must also be willing and able to roll up their
sleeves and help out with gallery maintenance (lighting, etc.), installation
of shows, shipping, painting pedestals, running errands, and gallery
attending. Duties will vary. Applicants must be able to attend Real Art
Ways' art openings on May 15, June 19, July 17, and August 21.

Education Intern
Education Intern will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of our summer Neighborhood Studios program. Duties will include scheduling interviews, record keeping, attending program meetings, running errands, program reports, and other duties as needed. Intern will also supervise activities during program hours and serve as a mentor to our apprentices.
Candidates should have some interest and experience with digital filmmaking or digital photography. Basic knowledge of Macintosh Microsoft Office Suite is a must. Excellent organizational skills and attention to details will be required for this position. Applicants should have a desire to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
The education intern will work 15-25 hours a week from 5/19-6/20 & 8/4-8/15, and Monday- Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am-1pm during program weeks, 6/25-8/2.
