Neighborhood Studios: Eye on Video
Eye on Video is an unparalleled experience for students to create art with professional cameras, computers, and Final Cut Express editing software. Students earn weekly stipends while honing their creativity and critical thinking skills with support from a Master Teaching Artist and the Real Art Ways' staff.
Eye on Video's comprehensive, student-focused curriculum includes lessons and projects on camera operation, digital video production, editing, storytelling, and composition. Because the program takes place within Real Art Ways' gallery spaces and cinema, students are regularly exposed to contemporary art along with classic and modern films.
Neighborhood Studios is an initiative of the Greater Hartford Arts Council. This is Real Art Ways' 9th summer operating the Eye on Video workshops.
Canditates between the ages of 14-19 must live in one of the 34 towns served by the Greater Hartford Art Council. Applicants must be available for the duration of the summer program, June 30th-August 8th. Full details of the program, application process, and timeline are available on the Greater Hartford Arts Council website.
