Project

As an alternative to widening I-84 and I-91, the Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) are creating a new Bus Rapid Transit System (BRT) for the Hartford Metropolitan area. The competition will identify a station designer for the stations on the first segment of the system, running between downtown Hartford to New Britain (12 BRT stations).

The design competition is being organized by Real Art Ways, which will exhibit the proposed designs in the summer of 2002.
