Leah Tinari
October 18 – November 11, 2007
Tinari works in gouache on paper and canvas. The imagery in her paintings is
based on photographs that she takes of family and friends, disparate
objects, and patterns from fabrics. The people in her paintings are offset
by these bold fabric patterns and by playful knick-knacks. Though the work
is a documentation of her personal experiences, the images are created to
evoke familiar feelings in anyone who gazes at them, relishing in
caricature-like figures and vibrant color.
